The Italian word for lighthouse is "faro". It comes from the island of Pharos, where a lighthouse of an estimated height of 134 metres high and visible from a distance of 48 km was built during the third century BC.
Seafarers used the lighthouse to identify the port's location, which made it safer for the boats to enter and leave the port.
The lighthouse is our symbol because it represents your guiding light and a guarantee of our assistance and continuity.
In 2013 we revisted the design of our lighthouse and came up with a more modern logo reflecting the changes of a constantly evolving world.
